Tropical wildlife is exquisitely depicted in hand-carved cameos of outstanding beauty.The thickness of Alphonse de la Forêt cameos, along with the motifs carved into them, render a unique and rare quality unlike any other in the world, which is exclusive of the Vida Collection.The shells from which these cameos are carved come from the Caribbean islands off the coast of Panama, and are provided by native shell divers. The fine craftsmanship of these pieces is particularly shown in the beautiful openwork with motifs from the central piece in the lamina backs, resulting in an impeccable finish. Strands of pearls, carefully set in crescendo, feature occasional diamond inlays. The cameo jewelry in this collection is totally hand-made by experienced goldsmiths. Carvings are similar yet not identical making each piece one of a kind.

Exotic woods such as the purple Nazareno; the striped Makana, also known as Black Palm, and the pink Carreto, are all native of the tropical rainforests in the Amazon and Darien regions. Set together with precious and semi precious colored gems which have been cut and polished respecting their natural shapes. These are one of a kind numbered pieces of jewelry.
